We have our first city guide for you! Provided the weather (or weatherproof clothing) is good, we’ll let you loose on the most beautiful city in central Switzerland on your e-bike. In this guide you will find three routes to explore Lucerne by e-bike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Let’s start from Lucerne station. From there you can set off on your e-bike in the direction of the Chapel Bridge. The wooden bridge is one of the oldest wooden bridges in Europe and a real landmark of Lucerne. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is around 204 m long, crosses the Reuss river and connects the old town with the new part of the city. It is worth taking your time to look at the centuries-old monument with its old inscriptions and historical paintings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once you have crossed the bridge, you continue to the Lion Monument. The Lion Monument was erected in 1892 to commemorate the fall of the Swiss Guards in Paris during the Tuileries Storm in 1792. The stone lion is 10 m long and is famous all over the world. Right next door is the Glacier Garden. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
20,000 years ago, Lucerne lay under a thick layer of ice, as the glacial pots testify. If you go back in time again a few millennia, the city lay on a tropical beach. Fossilised palm leaves and shells were found in exactly the same place and can be admired there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tour continues through the old town to G\u00fctsch Castle! The journey leads back over the Chapel Bridge. If you wish, you can also stop at the Spreuerbr\u00fccke to see Lucerne’s second historic wooden bridge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The trail takes us about 3.5 km across Lucerne and up the hill to G\u00fctsch Castle. The amazing stonework offers breathtaking views and invites you to take a well-deserved break. Enjoy the panorama and the impressive atmosphere! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Once again, we start from Lucerne railway station. The first stop is the Musegg Wall. Immediately after the station you will see the Chapel Bridge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As described above, a stop is highly recommended. The second wooden bridge, the Spreuerbr\u00fccke, is also on the direct way to the Museggmauer, in case you want to stop by there as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Musegg Wall is a monument from the Middle Ages and stretches over 870 m through Lucerne. Built in the 14th and 15th centuries, the wall served primarily as a sign of prosperity, in addition to military reasons. The various towers along the wall are partly accessible. These include the M\u00e4nnliturm, the Wachtturm, the Schirmenturm and the Zeitturm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
For a dose of history on your next stop, we recommend the Richard Wagner Museum. A 15-minute drive along Lake Lucerne leads to his former residence, which is open for tours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ready for a picnic? So much amazement and discovery makes everyone hungry! You can combine the ride to Bireggwald with a delicious picnic, which you can easily transport on your city e-bike. Imagine a sunny day with a sweeping view over Lake Lucerne and Mount Pilatus, plus a hearty picnic – what more could you want?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a third suggestion, we would like to recommend a tour along Lake Lucerne to below the B\u00fcrgenstock. This route takes you along the lake for 1 hour, depending on your speed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
From Lucerne via Kastanienbaum, across the cantonal border to Hergiswil and on to Stansstad, you can get there in no time on your e-bike. The return trip by boat is an ideal way to round off the excursion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
