Many of you loved our first City Guide for Lucerne. Now we are back with a new city: Bern, our beloved capital! On this e-bike tour you, can discover 3 routes to explore the city of Bern and its surroundings with your city e-bike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The historic centre of Bern is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We strongly recommend that you take the time to visit this part of Bern. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first stop is the Zytglogge, Bern’s bell tower. As you continue through the historic city centre, you will reach the Rose Garden. The Rose Garden is one of the most beautiful parks in Bern (or anywhere!) and offers a unique view over the roofs of the historic old town. Spring is the best time to visit, because that’s when the flowers bloom and the colours come out. Fun Fact: The garden has more than 250 varieties of roses! So don’t forget to bring your camera!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Next, head to Helvetiaplatz, surrounded by a multitude of museums. The Bern History Museum is the second largest history museum in Switzerland. If you want to take a little history break on your city tour, this is the place to go! Not interested in history? No problem, there are plenty of opportunities to learn something new elsewhere, such as the Natural History Museum or the Alpine Museum of Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With this tour, you can discover the same stages as on the first tour, but with other small features such as the Mattequartier. We have also included the Rose Garden here again – it is simply worth seeing and should by no means be passed over! To round off this tour, we recommend a visit to the Bern Zoo. The zoo is located in a large park. Maybe stop and buy a few things for a picnic in the park? There is also a climbing centre; the Ropetech Seilpark Bern. A perfect place to go when you feel a little bit more adventurous!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This last tour is for you if you want to discover Bern from all its angles. This tour can be done in any direction and order. You can start by exploring the city and then go to a high vantage point to enjoy the magnificent view. Equally, you can choose the Gurten as your starting point and head into the city from there. This high vantage point is a large green space that offers you a magnificent view. It is also a great place to take a break and enjoy nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We recommend you bring a picnic or snack so you can take a well-deserved break and really enjoy the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Continue on to the Bear Park: it is part of the Bern Zoo and offers many activities. The three bears Finn, Bj\u00f6rk and Ursina live there in a species-appropriate environment and can be observed (if you are lucky!). The above-mentioned climbing park and the picnic can be freely combined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The final part of this route is a short tour of Bern’s city centre, which has wonderful things to offer. Here you will find many monuments, each more beautiful than the next. For example, visit the Bern Cathedral or the Federal Palace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This tour takes up to 1.5 hours for the total distance of 14.4 km. Note that the difference in altitude is about 334 m. Super easy with a City E-Bike – so you don’t have to worry about that!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
