We&#8217;ve put together 5 tips on how to cycle in high temperatures without getting a heat stroke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Check the condition of your e-bike<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This advice applies to all seasons. However, it is even more advisable when the sun is strong. Some components of your e-bike are more sensitive, such as the tyres. If they are damaged, the sun can wear them out more quickly and cause an annoying and avoidable breakdown.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check the tyres of your e-bike regularly to always be safe on the road. If the tread is very flattened (less than 1 mm tread depth), it is recommended to replace them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tyre pressure is also an important criterion for a safe ride on the road. Because even on a bike in perfect condition, some pressure is always lost. On unpaved surfaces, where your bike needs more grip, this issue is even more important. This applies to trekking e-bikes and mountain e-bikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2 Stay hydrated<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Heat and physical exertion affect your health. That is why it is extremely important to drink enough water at all times. The body is made up of over 70% water, which shows how extremely important fluids are for us. In summer, we all sweat a lot more to regulate the body&#8217;s temperature, and physical activity adds to this. Never underestimate water loss! It is best advised to always take a water bottle or an extra drink with you on your rides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Be careful in very hot weather!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In very hot weather you should not cycle for too long in the blazing sun. You can get sunstroke or even a heat stroke. You will certainly experience the most beautiful bike tour in the early morning hours with a cosy atmosphere and pleasant temperatures. For those who are not early risers, cycling at a later hour is of course also a suitable solution. You can marvel at sunrises and sunsets &#8211; a perfect way to start or end the day.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, if you do go out at the sweatiest times of day, we strongly recommend that you wear sunscreen and protect your eyes with sunglasses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&nbsp;4. Find the right clothing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Even when it\u2019s hot, you should wear some protective clothing when riding an e-bike. Especially when riding an e-bike at speeds up to 45km\/h, longer trousers and closed shoes are most certainly a better choice than shorts and flip flops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Check your lights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The warm half of the year also means more and longer daylight. So we experience beautiful evenings, with dusk only at the late hour of the evening. This makes it tempting to accidentally forget your bike lights at home and ride without them.
