On 9 September, we celebrated World E-mobility Day. This form of transport is becoming more and more important in Switzerland. We are facing many new challenges that affect our mobility as well as the environment. More and more innovative solutions such as electric cars and various two-wheeled vehicles are becoming part of our everyday lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The term electromobility refers to means of transport that move with the help of electricity. In general, it refers to electric cars and buses (for public transport), as well as two-wheeled vehicles like scooters or bicycles, which have evolved in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For some years now, electric vehicles and rechargeable hybrids, with two or four wheels, have been on the rise in Switzerland. Brands are being established with the aim of tapping into the e-mobility market. With practicality and pleasure, the e-bike is inspiring more and more people in Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The growing popularity of the e-bike is also reflected in the sales figures for 2020. The health crisis caused by the coronavirus has led to a noticeable increase in the number of e-bikes. According to Velosuisse, the Swiss association of bicycle manufacturers and importers, 171,132 electric bikes were sold in 2020. This is a new record in the still strongly growing bicycle market. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The growing interest in two-wheel-mobility has had many positive consequences. After all, an increase in the number of bicycles on the road leads to an improved, differentiated infrastructure and more safety on the roads. It also promotes public health and quality of life.
