In the following blog post, we will show you how.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Should I completely discharge my e-bike battery?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There is still a persistent rumour going around that the e-bike battery will be damaged if it is connected to the charging station before it is completely discharged. However, this is not the case: with today&#8217;s high-quality lithium-ion batteries, you no longer have to worry about when to charge your battery.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Normally, you will find all information about the battery life in the operating instructions of your e-bike. The information refers to a full charging cycle. <strong>On average, an e-bike battery lasts 500 &#8211; 1500 charging cycles.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can increase the service life by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preventing your battery from being completely discharged or fully charged (a range of 20 to 80 percent is ideal).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Always using the supplied cable to charge the battery.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Charge more often and for shorter periods than less often and for longer periods.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be careful not to expose your battery to extreme temperature fluctuations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the ideal temperature for the e-bike battery?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Your e-bike battery is very sensitive to temperature differences. Especially in winter, you should therefore make sure that you store it correctly. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mybikeplan.ch\/blog\/so-lagerst-du-dein-e-bike-richtig-im-winter-und-herbst\">You can find more information about storing your e-bike battery in this blog post.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ideal temperature for your battery is between 15 and 20 degrees. If it is very hot in the summer or very cold in the winter, it is advisable to insert the battery into the e-bike just before riding. This way you can avoid damaging it. For even better protection, there are so-called thermal protection covers that delay cooling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are the dangers of an e-bike battery?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, the e-bike battery is a very safe part of your e-bike and you usually don&#8217;t have to worry about it. It only becomes dangerous if you try to open it &#8211; as long as you don\u2019t happen to be a bike mechanic, you should keep your hands off it! Batteries are very compact. Important functions can be quickly destroyed when you open the battery without knowing exactly what you&#8217;re doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another tip: When you clean your e-bike, it is important that no moisture gets into your battery. <strong>Therefore, take it out before every cleaning and clean it with a dry cloth if necessary.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In summer, you should also make sure that your e-bike battery is not exposed to high temperatures and especially not to direct sunlight. In the worst case, this can lead to an increased risk of fire.
